Traffic collision at Cashel, Slane

Details: One of the cars involved was turning right into a house, the second car
came behind, swerved to avoid the stationary car and struck an oncoming vehicle and
was subsequently pushed back into first car.
Injuries: None, Material Damage Only

Some of the vehicles involved were carrying passengers, the youngest was 16.

Although this collision took place on the N51 Slane to Drogheda road and not the N2, it happened on a section of road that is due to be upgraded in the proposed bypass works. It is close to the point where a roundabout is due to be constructed where the line of the bypass intersects the N51. The road between the roundabout and the village is due to be straightened which will improve visibility.
